Application Instructions

1. Apply Online

   There are several ways to apply; please submit one application:

   The Common Application allows you to apply to over 500 participating schools with one application.

   The SUNY Application allows you to apply to multiple SUNY schools with one application.

   The Coalition Application allows you to apply to over 90 schools with the assistance of an online toolkit.

   Note: A $50 nonrefundable application fee is required. ÑÇÖÞÇéÉ« accepts only its official application fee waiver forms for students who meet established eligibility criteria demonstrating financial need.

   Students applying for the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) should use the SUNY Application.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               

2. Check Your Email and Activate Your Password

   Beginning in early October, after we receive your application, we'll email you a Reference Number and User ID. Once you receive these, activate your account by setting a password. You must do this before you can successfully complete the rest of your application.

   Note: The Admissions Office uses email as our main source of communication for important updates including application status notifications. If you are providing your school email, be aware of any policies your high school has that may restrict our messages from reaching you. You can update your email address at any time through the status checker. Add admit@binghamton.edu to your email contact list to ensure you receive our emails. Don't forget to check your spam folder!

3. Submit Your Transcript

   First-year students are required to submit a high school transcript. You should request your transcript from your school counselor. Official transcripts can be submitted electronically or by mail to ÑÇÖÞÇéÉ«, Office of Undergraduate Admissions, P.O. BOX 6001, ÑÇÖÞÇéÉ«, NY 13902-6001

4. Standardized Test Scores (optional)

   ÑÇÖÞÇéÉ« is test optional which means standardized test scores are not required. All students must indicate on The Common Application, the Coalition Application or the SUNY application whether or not they want standardized SAT/ACT test scores included in the review of their overall application. 5. Submit One Teacher/Counselor Recommendation

   ÑÇÖÞÇéÉ« will review one teacher/counselor recommendation. Submit your recommender as indicated on your application of choice.

6. Additional Requirements

   • EOP Applicants

     Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) applicants may be requested to complete and submit additional academic and financial application materials. EOP applicants are not eligible to apply Early Action.

     Note: Students applying for the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) should use the SUNY Application.

   • Home-Schooled Applicants

     ÑÇÖÞÇéÉ« is happy to accept and review applications from students who received their education through home-schooling experiences.

   • School of the Arts majors

     The School of the Arts at ÑÇÖÞÇéÉ« is part of Harpur College of Arts and Sciences. Students may seek admission to Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA), or Bachelor of Music (BMus) programs. All students who apply to ÑÇÖÞÇéÉ« with an interest in art, music, or theatre will be asked to confirm their desired degree program.

     Note: EOP applicants are not eligible for direct admission to BFA and BMus programs.

     Admissions Decisions

     All students who meet application deadlines and submit admissions materials (transcript, SAT/ACT scores (optional), recommendation) will receive a decision regarding their admission to Harpur College of Arts and Sciences at ÑÇÖÞÇéÉ« on a rolling basis, but no later than Dec. 15 (BFA and BMus priority consideration), Jan. 15 (BA early action), or Apr. 1 (BA regular admission and BFA and BMus regular consideration).

     Students pursuing a BFA or BMus program who meet portfolio and audition deadlines and requirements will be notified by Undergraduate Admissions if they have been admitted directly to the BFA or BMus majors on a rolling basis, but no later than April 1.

7. Check Status of Your Application Regularly

   Once you've applied, you should regularly check the status of your application.
