Student Manager

The MRC Student Manager is a student leadership position responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Multicultural Resource Center while contributing to programming, student engagement, and front desk customer service. This includes reception support, leading events, and providing support for students, faculty, staff and organizations who utilize the center, its services, and meeting spaces. 

Student Managers serve as representatives of the MRC and play an active role in fostering an inclusive, welcoming, and culturally responsive campus environment.

The MRC Assistant Directors directly supervise the student managers. MRC graduate assistants and Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion staff may direct some position responsibilities as needed.

  • Duties & Responsibilities
    • Support daily operations of the MRC and help maintain a welcoming, inclusive space
    • Assist with planning and execution of programs, events, and campus outreach initiatives
    • Collaborate with student organizations, interns, and campus partners
    • Help guide and support interns and student team members
    • Assist with Resource Room services and inventory
    • Support marketing, communications, and event promotion
    • Attend staff meetings, trainings, and professional development sessions
    • Perform other duties as assigned
  • How to Apply

    Student manager positions, when available, will be posted on hireBING. MRC seeks student managers for the following academic year in early April. Around that time, the MRC hosts several information sessions regarding open student positions and the hiring process. Interested students are asked to attend one information session and apply via hireBING by the application deadline.

    Note: If student manager positions will be available for the Spring semester, they will be posted on hireBING in early November. 

MRC Graduate Assistantships

The MRC offers three graduate assistantship for students in various graduate academic programs. Graduate assistantships work in conjunction with the rest of the MRC professional staff on educational, instructional and social programs and initiatives.

  • Graduate Assistant for Event Planning

    The MRC Graduate Assistant for Event Planning will support the center in the development and execution of multicultural programming. The GA will oversee and assist with the supervision of the MRC Event Planning Interns, in planning campus-wide and in-center events. Additional responsibilities will include: collaborating with campus partners and cultural student organizations and facilitating MRC informational presentations.

  • Graduate Assistant for Administration

    The MRC Graduate Assistant for Administration will provide administrative and assessment support for the center. The GA will assist MRC staff with internal policy creation, development & implementation. In addition, the GA will conduct assessment of MRC programming, usage, etc. The GA will also provide general support to Center operations based on office needs and/or student interests.

  • General Qualifications for Graduate Assistantship
    • Candidates must be enrolled in a graduate program at 亚洲情色.
    • Prior administrative and/or assessment experience and ability to work as part of a team required; team leadership experience a plus
    • Strong interest in working with diverse populations and learning about diversity related issues
    • Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities
    • Excellent customer service, verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong creative and problem solving skills
    • Must have demonstrated knowledge of and sensitivity to traditionally underrepresented students (including, but not limited to Asian, Asian American and Pacific Islander, African and African American, Latinx, Native American and Alaskan Native, and International students; Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Questioning students; students with disabilities; as well as those with various spiritual/religious beliefs).
    • Preferred qualifications: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Suite, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign) and social media platforms
    • Some night and weekend hours are required
    • Preference given to students enrolled in Higher Education and Student Affairs; Sociology, Psychology, Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies, MPA, CCPA PhD students are also strongly encouraged to apply
  • Term

    Graduate Assistants start as early as August and end as late as May of an academic year.

  • Compensation

    This assistantship includes a base stipend for the year of $10,777, paid biweekly. This position is represented by the Graduate Student Employees Union (GSEU), and the stipend includes all potential union negotiated raises applicable for the academic year. This position requires an average of twenty (20) hours of work per week.

    Note: MRC graduate assistantships do not include tuition remission.
