Welcome to Harpur College!

Congratulations and Welcome to Harpur College! The Harpur Academic Advising team is here to support you and help you begin your journey at ÑÇÖÞÇéÉ«. Be sure to check your ÑÇÖÞÇéÉ« email regularly soon after you pay your deposit and sign up for New Student Orientation. All academic advising updates and next steps are sent to your BU email. 

Academic advising is one of several components of your New Student Orientation onboarding experience. Our Harpur New Student page provides a general guideline of what to expect for your academic advising experience, and a general timeline so you can plan accordingly. Be sure to follow the New Student Programs website for additional Orientation information!

  • First Years (June 2026 High School Graduates)
    • May: Sign up for a Session
      • Go to the New Student Checklist Card and complete all required items.
    • May: Complete required Academic Advising Check-List Items, including:
      • Registration and Advising Survey (RAS)
      • Required modules on your Orientation Check-List
      • If required for program, complete the
      • If required for program, complete the Chemistry Readiness Exam
      • Submit all required health documents with Health Services
    • Before June 23: Complete Registration and Advising Survey
      • Important: Your academic advisor will use the information from your RAS to register you for fall ‘26 courses.
    • End of June - July: Course Registration
      • Academic Advisors will register you for fall ‘26 courses.
    • June 25 - July 21: Attend your Orientation Session
    • June 26 - July 31: Meet with your academic advisor
      • Your 1:1 Zoom meeting will take place 1-4 business days after your orientation session
      • Your academic advisor will send you appointment sign up instructions on Day 2 of your orientation. Email will go to your BU account!
    • July-August: Complete your Post Orientation Homework on your Academic Advising Check-List
  • Transfers
    • May: Sign up for a Session
      • Go to the New Student Checklist Card and complete all required items.
    • May: Complete required Academic Advising Check-List Items, including:
      • Registration and Advising Survey
      • Required modules on your Orientation Check-List.
      • If required for program, complete the
      • If required for program, complete the Chemistry Readiness Exam
      • Submit all required health documents with Health Services.
    • June 1- June 12: 1:1 appointment with your Harpur Academic Advisor and faculty advisor
      • Appointment sign ups will be sent to your BU email address after you complete your Registration and Advising Survey.
      • You must meet with your Harpur Advisor between June 1 - 12 to register for fall ‘26 courses.
    • June 15 or June 17: Attend your Orientation
    • June 16 - 18: Transfer students can register for courses
      • You are eligible to register for Fall ‘26 courses only if you have met with your advisor, attended orientation, and cleared all health holds.
    • July-August: Complete required Post Orientation Homework from your Academic Advising Check-List
