Technical Support for Students, by Students
What is the ResCon program?
The ResCon program, provided by Information Technology Services (ITS), offers technical support to students living on campus. Our team of thirty-three dedicated ResCons resides in the campus community, working diligently to address questions regarding device connectivity, software problems, and other information technology-related issues.
The ITS Help Desk serves as the central point of contact and refers inquiries to ResCons. When necessary, ResCons reach out to students and make house calls to resolve issues, such as:
Connectivity Problems:
- Wi-Fi connection issues: Problems connecting devices like laptops, phones, game consoles, or smart TVs to the campus network
Software Issues:
- Installation and troubleshooting of software
- Operating system support (e.g., Windows, macOS)
- Help with university-recommended or required software
General IT Support:
- Questions about technology services offered on campus
- Troubleshooting common technical issues
- Assistance navigating university IT resources.
Unresolved cases are escalated to Senior ResCons, who, in turn, refer them to a coordinator at ITS in The Technology Hub.
