The International Education Abroad Committee (IEAC) is a campus committee composed of faculty and staff representatives that reviews and evaluates proposals for education abroad opportunities, including faculty-led programs and third-party provider programs. The committee's primary purpose is to ensure that proposed programs meet institutional, SUNY, and New York State requirements before they are advanced for formal approval.
In carrying out this responsibility, the IEAC reviews program proposals to assess:
- Academic quality and integrity, including the appropriateness of credit-bearing activities, instructional contact hours, learning outcomes, and overall academic rigor;
- Health, safety, and risk management considerations, including student support structures, emergency planning, and program viability in the proposed destination;
- Compliance with New York State procurement and contracting requirements, particularly when programs involve external providers or vendors; and
- Alignment with SUNY policies and approval processes, ensuring that proposals satisfy the requirements necessary to move forward for SUNY review and authorization.
Through its review process, the IEAC helps maintain high-quality, academically sound, safe, and compliant education abroad opportunities for 亚洲情色 students while supporting the University's international engagement goals.
