The following information applies to the Entry-Level Doctor of Occupational Therapy program, which is for students looking to become occupational therapists.
Technology Requirements
The Entry-Level OTD program is an on-campus, in-person program with one seminar course (OCT 643) that uses distance education methodology. This seminar course is taken while students are participating in OCT 642: Advanced OTD Capstone, a 14-week full-time clinical education experience. The OTD capstone experience's individualized nature requires students to participate in the seminar course using distance-learning methods. Students will use Brightspace, an online learning management system, for on-campus courses and OCT 643.
Students must have proper technology tools and resources to complete their coursework. All students have access to on-campus computer labs and learning centers. However, EL-OTD students must own a laptop or iPad while enrolled. Students will be required to write papers, create presentations, record video and take exams on their devices. Students are expected to bring their devices as requested, fully charged (power may not be available) and adhere to individual course-use policies.
